Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors,

I am Jason, President of the WorldMUN 2010 Host Team. On behalf of the entire NTU Host Team, I welcome you to Taipei and wish to express our utmost gratitude. Thank you all for your passion and hard work to participate in the activities and events we planned exclusively for you.
To tell the differences between holding WorldMUN in Taipei and other cities, you have to set foot in the events and activities organized by the Host Team. We have been constantly encouraged by e-mails from all around the world ever since the start of activities registrations. These mails, mostly asking for more details on each events and activities, meant a lot to us and were greatly received.
After months of efforts and the endless pursuit of creativity, suddenly we are only a few days away from WorldMUN 2010! You cannot possibly understand how anxious we were. Way back to the time when we were first preparing for the Taipei bidpack, way back to the days when we first formed some ideas of these events, we were already imaging how you, our fellow delegates, would feel at this very moment, and the end of the week. We feared that we might not present them in the best way; we feared that you might not perceive the beauties under the surface; we feared that our cultures might be lost or unnoticed among fancy decorations, exciting music, drinks, and clubbing. It wasn't until our registrations finally closed for good that we could let out a tiny portion of relief.
In the same period of time, a Taiwanese lady, who has studied and worked abroad for quite a long time, told us that we need not worry. After she came back to Taiwan, she was totally amazed by the beauty of Taipei. Like her, many people who have experienced both Western and Eastern cultures, would call it the hidden beauty. Taipei is a city that combines tradition and modernity, a city that blends the ancient Oriental cultures and contemporary Western concepts, a city that binds natural beauty with its civilized people. Inspired by these words, soon we realized that all we need only present Taipei as it is. Together, with your participations and our deliberate planning, we can go through an unforgettable tour of Taipei. See you soon!
Sincerely,
HOU, Tsung-Cheng (Jason)
